About This Page

This is the Historically Black Colleges & Universities and Minority Institutions Electronic Commerce Initiative (HECI) Online Help Desk Support Page. The goal of the HECI project is to introduce, educate, and assist Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) and the Minority Institutions (MI) in implementing Electronic Commerce (EC) and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) related technologies.

The help desk provides support for those with questions on EC/EDI issues using the following help tools:

  • Help Request Form- This is an online fill-in form that allows requests for help to be submitted to our Atlanta-based support team. A member of the support team should respond to your request within 48 hours.
  • Email Request for Help - This allows you to send e-mail messages stating your specific needs and requests to our support team at our Atlanta offices. A member of the support team should respond to your request within 48 hours.
  • Interactive Online Help - This is your launch-pad to HECI's support desk alternative to e-mail. The Interactive Online Help alternative applies the state of art Tango Interactive to provide users a tool to engage in an interactive online help session with the support desk. Visual and vocal interaction with our support team allows us to provide solutions for you in real time.
  • A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page has also been provided. Additional help should be requested if the FAQ page does not provide answers to your specific problems.

Other menu items have been provided on the help desk's main page:

  • Online Classes - This takes you to the HECI online training tool.
  • Contact Us - This is where you'll find contact information for our offices.
  • Back to HECI - This takes you back to the HECI web site.
  • AECRC - This takes you to the Atlanta Electronic Commerce Resource Center (AECRC) web site. The AECRC is part of a seventeen-center network, which has a primary mission of promoting awareness and providing implementation of electronic commerce and related technologies for a competitive US industrial base.
  • ViSiDeL - This takes you to the Visualization, Simulation and Design Laboratory (ViSiDeL) web site. The ViSiDeL reasearch unit of Clark Atlanta University has a strategic mission to develop exploratory software and instrumentation for simulations. The ViSiDeL web site also provides links to other related EC sites.
